Date and place of birth

August 26, 1943 (Kyiv region, Hrebinky village, Vasylkiv district), Ukrainian, non-party. The father was killed during World War II; the mother is a retiree.

Education

Graduated from the vocational school № 1 in the city of Dnipropetrovsk (1963), the Department of History of the Odessa Mechnykov State University (1969).

Operational experience

1968 – 1980 – worked in the Young Communist League.
1980 – 1996 – instructor of political sciences; Assistant Professor of the Institute of Political Science and Social Management; Holder of the Chair, Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute for Youth Problems.
From 1996 – Deputy Minister of Ukraine for Family and Youth Affairs.
From November 1998 until January 5, 1999 – Director of the Humanitarian Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.
From January 10, 1999 – Director of the Institute of Management and Business, and from May – Vice-President of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, Chairman of the Board of the Confederation of Nongovernmental Higher Education Establishments of Ukraine.
From 2004 to December 25, 2008 – Chancellor of the IAPM.
Since December 25, 2008 – IAPM’s Provost for Research Work.

Scientific interests

Problems of youth, student body, youth policy, political cultural of youth, citizens; political sciences; sociology of politics; political parties and processes; political marketing and management, political technologies, political psychology; democratization of society; social work; sociology of youth; psychology of communication within a group; management of a group; civil society; spirituality etc.

Social activity

Worked in numerous groups charged with preparation of the presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine, as member of advisory commissions in committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, headed organizing committees assigned to prepare congresses, conferences, symposiums, meetings; developed and implemented international projects and programs. Is an advisor of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Science and Education, as well as the Chair of the Commission of Experts of the Ministry for Family and Youth Affairs charged with youth programs and projects.
