The Doctoral School

The Joint Doctoral School of the IAPM was set up in common with the International Personnel Academy (IPA) and the US International Open University (IOU). It represents the educational highest level within the IAPM’s multilayer education system.

The main objective of the IAPM’s Doctoral School consists in training highly skilled research and scientific-and-teaching manpower – doctors of philosophy, as well as doctors of science based on internationally recognized standards.

Training form: by correspondence.

Training period:  2 years;
                           1 year subject to passage of qualifying exams for admission.

The Doctoral Schools admits citizens of Ukraine and other countries having higher education at the level of a specialist/master. Entrance to the Doctoral School is based on the results of a selection interview.

The doctoral students study and go up under the curricula and syllabi in compliance with both the State standards, and international requirements governing the quality of dissertations.

During their studies, the doctoral students receive support on the part of highly skilled scholars of the Academy.

In the process of training, 10 disciplines are compulsory, in which the doctoral students take examinations and write abstracts. They must also publish three papers and write dissertations to be defended before the Joint Specialized Academic Council of the IAPM, IPA, and IOU. In order for the results of a dissertation research to be approbated, it is desirable for the doctoral students to participate in scientific-and-practical conferences of the university, All-Ukrainian, and international levels.

The doctoral students are given the right to publish the main conclusions and theses of their research works in the scientific and practical review “Personnel” and in the collections of scientific papers of the Academy. The collection “Proceedings of the IAPM” devoted to economic and psychological sciences is included in the list of scientific professional publications of Ukraine, which may publish the outcomes of dissertation works for the degree of Doctor and Candidate of Science.

In case of a successful defense of dissertations, the doctoral students are conferred the degree of doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Science in an appropriate specialty and issued credentials of an international standard.

In conformity with international conventions, the competent authorities of the countries-signatories to those conventions are recommended to recognize such credentials as documents entitling their holders to carry their professional activity according to the academic degrees specified in their credentials.

Teaching practice, conferences

The IAPM’s doctoral students have opportunities to participate in scientific conferences, seminars and other actions held and taken by the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management concerning such issues as management, economics, psychology, sociology, law, and the like.

In order to enter the Doctoral School, it is necessary to file:

1. An application addressed to the IAPM Chancellor;
2. A personnel record sheet;
3. A copy of the credential of a specialist (master, candidate of science);
4. A copy of the qualifying exams’ certificate;
5. A copy of the work record card;
6. A copy of the passport;
7. Three photographs (3 cm x 4 cm).

The documents are received on a monthly basis.

Training is subject to payment.
